TENDRARA > OUJDA
Stage 7 - april 23th 2017
Stage 7: Tendrara bivouac - Finish: 178 km
It has become a tradition that the rankings are turned upside down in the final stage despite the short distance. The same might happen again this edition.
The first 50 kms are marvellous: vast plains that offer the best of Morocco concerning rally driving, putting your foot down and drifting without any danger.
The only marking point is at km 49 where you have to take your foot off the peddle to take a left turn to a nasty descent with pits and stones.
From this point on the characteristics of the valley change dramatically with level variations and slower tracks.
The lower speed is just temporarily and after a few kilometres you enter another spacious plain where you can push the pedal to the metal once again. Although there is hardly any navigation required you have to pay close attention as this area is full of herds of cattle and dogs. Give them space and watch out because no one wants to hit a dog, sheep or goat.
The high pace comes to an end quite suddenly sometimes at the next plain, where you will have some sudden turns and winding tracks with holes. Watch out and be careful!
CP1 is at km 90 and we take a short strip of asphalt here.
The image of this 180 km long special stage it that of high speeds. This only changes in the final 45 kms where twisting WRC like tracks are alternated with trails through mountains, fields and oueds. It's a wonderful finish of a wonderful rally.
